News: The Official 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards Post
Last night the BET Hip-Hop Awards aired (the show was taped this past Saturday). With Katt Williams MIA (no, not the singer) at the last minute, T-Pain stepped in as host. To put it in perspective, the night consisted of The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly. I guess you could say T-Pain really was the Ring Leader of this circus. Now I am not a fashion expert. I leave that one to the ladies. But damn if there weren't some fucked up outfits bein' rocked at the show. There were some really good performances, but a few that lacked enthusiasm and left the crowd dead and wanting more. I really have to ask, when did all of Salt n Pepa's old songs become songs about Barack Obama? Anyway, I'll be updating this post as the day goes on with video's of the performances & of course the best part of the show, the cyphers. Here is a list of the winners & Performances...

Regardless of selling over 500,000 less units than the week before, T.I. did not budge, holding the #1 spot for the second week, after his third straight top-spot debut. Paper Trail held Metallica off by over 100,000 units as Atlanta's top-selling rapper is on likely pace to go platinum this week amidst an album campaign that's several singles from over. Time will tell how T.I. stands when Kanye West and 50 Cent enter the charts before year's end.
As Ne-Yo climbed yet again with Year of the Gentleman , out-selling Robin Thicke [click to read] and joining Jennifer Hudson, along with T.I. as the only three urban artists in the Top Ten. The blokes from Oasis, for what it's worth, held #5 with their new collection Dig Out Your Soul. The three mainstays of Lil Wayne [click to read], Young Jeezy [click to read] and The Game [click to read] finished in that order with Tha Carter III [click to read], Recession [click to read] and LAX [click to read] respectively. While The Game fell less than 4,000 units of cracking the gold benchmark, Young Jeezy surpassed it, as all of his solo albums have now earned the Atlanta star plaques.

Current single "Lock Lockdown" has already done great chart wise peaking to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, but has yet to cacth much radio play. Here we have the confirmed second single "Heartless" in it's entirety. The track has a more uptempo feel then "Lock Lockdown" did and follows the same auto-tuned singing sound to it. Just yesturday the announcement was made that Eminem was to return to the music scene. After months of rumors, the MC announced the title for his sixth album, "Relapse," last night during an on-air launch party for his book, "The Way I Am". Eminem also introduced a new track "I'm Having a Relapse" which we have now. It's probably just a teaser track to make us wait for what's to come but worth checking out. 50 Cent hinted that "Relapse" may even arrive before his own new album, "Before I Self Destruct," due Dec. 9. Brandy is set to drop her anticpated fifth album "Human" on December 9th!! Current single "Right Here (Departed)" seemed to be doing well at first but has lost some of it's steam and has yet to make a big impact. If that doesn't change Brandy will get ready to move onto 2nd single "Long Distance". It's a great pop/r&b ballad that reminds me much of her "Have You Ever" days. Deff check this out, Enjoy!!

Spears Scores Record-Setting Hot 100 Jump!
Another week, another record-breaking jump to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Britney Spears makes a near-maximum 96-1 rise with "Womanizer," returning to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single "...Baby One More Time" hit No. 1 in January 1999. Spears' single is spurred by first-week download sales of 286,000, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003, besting Mariah Carey's take for "Touch My Body" by just over 200 units.

Next month Akon will be releasing his 3rd album, ''Freedom''. The lead single "Right Now" is becoming huge around the country, and his second single "I'm So Paid" with Lil' Wayne is also making some rounds. Here we have a song from him called "Work It Out" with the amazing Keyshia Cole. The song is a great midtempo r&b song with some amazing vocals. This would be a great contender for the 3rd single!
